As on the rest of the island, Pollensan cuisine is a reflection of Mediterranean gastronomy that puts Mallorcan dishes on the global culinary map. There are numerous dining options in the area, as well as many local dishes to savour: sobrasada or butifarrones (spicy sausages); delicious pastries such as ensaimadas, greixonera, gató, robiols and crespells; sopas Mallorquinas (broth with bread or vegetables), tumbet (tomato, aubergine and potatoes), trempó (pepper and tomato salad) and freixura (lamb offal stew) as starters and main courses; and seafood such as dolphinfish, seabass or red scorpion fish. Similarly, Pollensa has a long tradition of wine and liqueur production.
